DAP (Delivered At Place): Qulbix pays for the shipping to your address. You, the customer, are responsible for any local import duties, taxes (VAT), and customs clearance fees upon arrival.
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): Qulbix handles all shipping, duties, and taxes in advance. You receive the package with no additional charges.
Who pays for the customs duties and VAT?
For USA (DDP - Delivered Duty Paid): Qulbix collects the duties and taxes at checkout and pays them on your behalf. You will NOT have to pay any additional fees to FedEx upon delivery.
For Switzerland, Norway, Canada, and UK (DAP - Delivered At Place): Qulbix covers only the transport and export costs. The customer is responsible for paying all local VAT, customs duties, and any administrative handling fees charged by the carrier (DPD or National Post) once the package reaches your country.
For EU Countries: No import duties or are charged upon delivery.
For certain types of goods, we must "manually" check the delivery cost (dangerous goods, other countries, etc.). If no shipping rate is calculated at checkout, please contact us for a manual quote.
Lithium batteries and complete bikes are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods. If a shipping rate is not available at checkout, please contact us for a custom quote.
Due to ADR regulations for Dangerous Goods, shipping standalone batteries or vehicles is expensive. We highly recommend personal pickup at our headquarters to avoid these costs.
Orders are shipped under DAP terms. As Slovenia is an EU member, no additional customs duties or taxes are required upon delivery. The price at checkout is final.

Since the end of the De Minimis exemption in August 2025, all imports to the USA are subject to duties. The rate depends on the "Country of Origin" of the components:
EU Origin (e.g., Qulbix Frames): Approximately 15% duty.
China Origin (e.g., Motors, Controllers): Approximately 10% base duty + 25% Section 301 tariff (Total ~35%).
Administrative costs: A flat fee of €15 per shipment is added to cover the formal customs entry process (for up to 3 different tariff/HS codes).
Yes. Following the 2025 executive orders, the previous $800 duty-free threshold (De Minimis) has been eliminated for most commercial goods. Every package entering the US now requires a formal customs entry. By using our FedEx DDP service, these taxes are calculated and paid at checkout, so your package clears customs automatically.
Our system calculates a weighted average based on the HS codes of your items. Each item is declared with its correct "Country of Origin" to ensure compliance with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
Previously, small packages could be sent via National Post. However, since the removal of the De Minimis rule, postal services face massive bureaucratic hurdles and delays in US Customs.
